An historic hotel in downtown Lindsborg...
|
| As
the name suggests, The Swedish Country Inn is like a visit to
the small inns found throughout the countryside in
Sweden. This charming inn is located in Lindsborg,
Kansas, "Little Sweden USA". The 19 rooms in
this historic hotel located in downtown Lindsborg feature
furnishings imported from Sweden. |
|

|
Bright,
airy rooms with pine furnishings, colorful quilts and
hand-painted cupboards make you feel as if you have traveled
to Sweden. All rooms have private baths, telephones and
televisions. The redwood sauna is a great way to relax
after a day of shopping or gallery browsing.

Our
famous Swedish breakfast buffet completes your overnight stay
with delicious meatballs, lingonberries, eggs in eggcups,
freshly baked rye bread, Swedish tea
rings, cheese, cold meats,
cereals, pickled herring and knäckebröd. Of course this
mouth-watering breakfast is served, as it is in Sweden, with an
endless cup of freshly ground coffee. All of this is
served each morning in our cozy dining room located off our main
lobby. |
|
  |
 |
The main lobby features lovely art
work by Swedish and Lindsborg artists, handmade and decorated
furnishings, and a bright and airy atmosphere. A pot of coffee and
skorpor (Swedish rusks) are always available for our guests. |

Your host is Becky Anderson, a
Lindsborg native who is always anxious to tell her guests about this
fascinating community. Bethany College is located a few short
blocks from the Inn, as is the Smoky Valley Roller Mill and Heritage
Park. |

The 19 rooms in the inn provide a
wonderful spot for family reunions, small group meetings or a quiet

There
are still places where life is good... |

Lindsborg,
Kansas, settled by pietist Swedish immigrants in 1869, is still
heavily influenced by its Old-World heritage. It has a
reputation as a wholesome small town with an abundance of artists
and crafts people, and historic buildings and museums. It's
reputation of being "Little Sweden USA" is due in large
part to the cities adoption of the Swedish Dala Horse as its
official symbol. This orange-red horse is found all over the
community. The community is very proud of its lovely parks and
colorful downtown area. Signs in Swedish are found all around
the town and if you listen carefully you might hear the Swedish
language being spoken by the shop owners or the many visitors from
the old country. The downtown shops are filled with imported
items from all over the world. Many fine artists make their
home in Lindsborg and charming studios dot the downtown as well as
throughout the community. Restaurants, shopping, museums,
galleries, parks - Lindsborg has it all. |
